Champ Car organisers modify pit stop rules.
The Champ Car World Series has announced that it has modified its mandatory pit-stop rules with immediate effect.
A single mandatory pit stop, made under green or yellow flag conditions, is now required within a specified race lap window during all Champ Car World Series events.
The one stop, during which the car must take fuel and four tyres, will be the only mandatory stop during Champ Car races.
The pit window, designed to eliminate fuel economy races, will vary from race to race and will be announced prior to the event by Champ Car Race Operations.

The rule will go into effect with this weekend's Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver, round nine of the 2004 season.
