"The Wing" is back at the place that made it famous and one of the hottest motorsports collectible items in recent memory, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The damaged front wing from the #16 Rahal Letterman Racing Panoz-Honda driven by Danica Patrick in the 89th Indianapolis 500 was placed on display this week in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum.

Patrick autographed the wing, which was damaged when she collided with Panther Racing driver Tomas Enge during the Indy 500, in early June before Panther placed it on eBay for a charity auction. Patrick finished fourth and became the first woman to lead the Indianapolis 500 en route to being named JPMorgan Chase Rookie of the Year.

The wing will be at the Museum on a short-term basis until it is returned to its owner, J.B. Moresco of Los Angeles. Moresco paid $42,650.01 in an eBay auction in June to win the wing. The proceeds were donated to Panther's charity, Best Buddies Indiana, which matches developmentally disabled people with mentors.
