FA: Sciuto to lead Polestar challenge.
After becoming the youngest ever polewinner in the Formula Atlantic championship during his part campaign last season, Alan Sciuto is to return for a full assault on the series in 2006 after concluding a deal to compete with the Polestar Racing Group.
The 17-year-old driver produced strong performances in the Star Mazda series and US Formula Ford 2000 alongside his Atlantic exploits to emerge as one of the rising stars of American open-wheel racing and Polestar team co-owner Jim Griffith said he felt the teenager has what it takes to win this season.

"Alan certainly demonstrated a lot of promise and a lot of poise last season," he said. "He clearly has the talent to compete and win at this level. Our goal is to help continue Alan's maturation as a driver and we're looking forward to contending for the series championship this season."
Sciuto should be a good fit on the veteran Polestar squad that produced a total of five Atlantic victories last season between rookie drivers Katherine Legge and Antoine Bessette.
Continuing on a relationship that was established last season when Legge took the series by storm with three victories, Champ Car World Series outfit PKV will continue to serve as a sponsor for Polestar Racing Group.
"PKV Racing is pleased to continue its sponsorship of one of the Polestar Racing Group entries during the 2006 Champ Car Atlantic Championship Presented by Yokohama season," PKV and Champ Car co-owner Kevin Kalkhoven said. "Polestar Racing Group had an outstanding year in 2005 and we were obviously very impressed with the results of the PKV Racing/Polestar Racing Group car piloted by Katherine Legge.
"PKV Racing is proud to support Jim and Pam Griffith and Bruce Potter and we are excited to be the sponsor of Alan Sciuto. Alan is a talented young American driver who showed in just three races of Atlantic competition last year that he has the skill to be competitive in this series."
The Polestar team hopes to announce a driver for its second entry in the 2006 Atlantic championship within the next few weeks.
