Foyt to have knee-op early.

Quadruple Indianapolis 500 winner and IndyCar Series team owner A.J. Foyt is scheduled to have his left knee replaced with an artificial knee on Monday following the race at Richmond.

The ensuing rehabilitation means that Foyt will miss both the Kansas and Nashville race events. Foyt has only missed a handful of events since he began fielding cars in the IndyCar Series in 1996.

"My knee's gotten so bad that I can't wait until the season is over to have it done," Foyt said. "I've been putting it off for about five years now but I can't do that anymore."
