Ansan race cancelled.

Champ Car World Series officials have announced that the Korean round of the championship at the Ansan circuit has been cancelled.

The event, which was due to take place on the 15-17 October, will not take place as 'a number of factors' have combined to prevent the series from holding the race on the yet-to-be-completed circuit.

"It is regrettable that this event in Korea has failed despite our repeated efforts to bring it to fruition," Champ Car World Series co-owner Kevin Kalhoven said. "We will not allow this setback to detract from what has been a very successful season.

"Despite the unfortunate situation regarding the Korea event, we intend to further develop our presence in Asia and the Pacific Rim, and are continuing to build toward our goal of conducting world-class events in these regions."

The Ansan race has now been cancelled for two seasons in a row - the inaugural event last year having also been canned.
