Legge to cash in with Coyne.

Despite having yet to sign a deal for the coming season, Katherine Legge will get a chance to sample the new Panoz Champ Car chassis at Sebring after being offered a run with Dale Coyne Racing.

The 26-year old Briton is still in talks with regard to finalising a seat for 2007 but, keen not to miss out on track time in the DP01, which debuts this year, she has jumped at the chance to join the first group test of the season.

"I am extremely grateful to Dale and Kevin [Kalkhoven] for setting this up," Legge told Crash.net, "I realise that the most important thing for me at the moment is experience, so the seat time in the new car at Sebring is invaluable.

"Dale has been in this business a very long time, and has a very good team. I'm looking forward to working with the engineers there and hope that I can learn more about the Panoz."

The run with Coyne is understood to be little more than a courtesy, designed to keep Legge up to speed, and the Briton hopes to be able to announce her deal for the coming season before too long.
