Autographed helmet on offer to highest bidder.
A unique piece of motorsports memorabilia, in the shape of a crash helmet signed by all surviving Indianapolis 500 winners, will be up for auction later this month on behalf of the Victory Junction Gang Camp set up by Kyle Petty.
Veteran motorsports journalist Al Pearce - who has initiated similar ventures featuring Daytona 500 and NASCAR Cup champions - presented the fundraising idea and set about obtaining each prized signature, either in person or by shipping the helmet across the United States.
