FA: Bremer returns to Polestar.

Having made a brief one-race comeback for the team last season, Ronnie Bremer has secured a full-time return to Polestar Racing in the Champ Car Atlantic Championship for 2007, alongside newcomer Bret McDonald.

The Dane first raced with the team in 2004 for the second-half of the season, recording two podiums on the way to fifth place in the standings. That performance was enough to merit a step up into the Champ Car World Series with both HVM and Dale Coyne Racing through 2005.

However, despite some encouraging performances that saw him finish in the top ten on seven occasions, Bremer was not re-signed for 2006 and spent the season on the sidelines before getting the call to rejoin Polestar for the penultimate round of the Atlantic series at Montreal.

Indeed, the former British Formula Three driver is delighted to be racing in America once again, citing it as a crucial route for him if he is ever to get back amongst the Champ Car World Series teams.

"Atlantic will be such a strong series this year and I'm happy to be back racing in America again," said Bremer. "My goal is to get back into Champ Car and this is a good opportunity with Polestar to see what we can do this season and go from there."

He will be joined in the team by McDonald, who switches to the Atlantic series after stints in the Skip Barber competition and the Formula TR 2000 Pro Series, securing a best result of third overall in the latter championship last season.

He too was delighted to be joining Polestar, who have recorded significant success over the years with Patrick Carpentier, Alex Barron, Buddy Rice and more recently Antonio Bessette and Katherine Legge.

"I'm really excited about this year," said MacDonald. "I'm fortunate to be in with a great, professional team like Polestar and working with a driver that's as talented and experienced in these cars as Ronnie Bremer will just be a tremendous help to me. I know I'm going to learn a ton this season and hopefully be competitive along the way."

With the season curtain raiser just around the corner at Las Vegas, team owner Jim Griffith is confident his new line-up will help extend Polestar's success through the season.

"We're excited to have both Ronnie and Bret with us this season," he said. "For Ronnie it's a great opportunity to once again prove himself against some of the great talent we have in Atlantics this season and he'll be a big help to the team and to Bret as a series rookie. Bret
understands the challenges he'll face in such a tough series this year, but he's not at all intimidated. He's always fared well in whatever he's done and Bret's certainly looking forward to being competitive."
