Dixon leads Kansas practice.
Target Chip Ganassi Racing took opening honours of the Kansas Lottery Indy 300 weekend as Dan Wheldon and Scott Dixon led Saturday's two pre-qualifying practice sessions at the 1.52-mile Kansas Speedway.
Dixon's best second session lap of 25.5849secs (213.876mph) was good enough to keep him at the top of the combined practice charts but teammate Wheldon, who led the opening session, will be slightly concerned that he was unable to better his 25.6846secs (213.046mph) fastest time from the generally slower morning session.

Last years Kansas polewinner Wheldon wound up fourth on the combined speed charts behind defending Kansas champ Sam Hornish Jr and Motegi winner Tony Kanaan with Danica Patrick and Helio Castroneves completing the top half a dozen drivers.
Further down the speed charts, Englishman Darren Manning was 15th fastest for AJ Foyt Racing just ahead of Sarah Fisher. Series returnees Marty Roth and Alex Barron were 18th and 20th fastest respectively with Milka Duno bringing up the rear of the field, although not by as much as many folk expected, in her Samax Motorsport entry.
