Hollywood actor-turned-race driver Frankie Muniz is much in evidence at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez this weekend, leading to suggestions that he has settled his Champ Car Atlantic ride for next season.
Both Muniz, who starred in the Agent Cody Banks films and television's Malcolm in the Middle, and Carl Skerlong are at the Champ Car World Series finale with Pacific Coast Motorsports, decked out in team livery. Skerlong is already a PCM 'backed' Atlantic driver and will continue with PCM and US RaceTronics next season, but Muniz's presence suggests that he could be the American's team-mate in 2008.
There is a vacancy at US RaceTronics following David Garza's decision to join Forsythe for next season, and Muniz has already said he will switching teams in 2008, albeit without giving any details until a planned announcement in Southern California next week.
Skerlong, meanwhile, is due to get his CCWS test debut with PCM at Buttonwillow next weekend, as part of the development programme the team has forged with US RaceTronics.
