Gemini gearbox goes the distance at Le Mans.
The Gemini gearbox could be crowned king of the long distance runners after a highly successful Le Mans 24 hours race with the Roc Auto team.
The team were the highest placed finishers to complete the race without having to change their gearbox and not only did the transmission unit run cleanly over the whole 24 hours, it had been used throughout the practice sessions earlier in the week. The ROC Reynard 2KQ-VW endured a tough race to win the LMP675 class and to finish fifth overall in the event.

"Le Mans 24 Hour race is the ultimate test of endurance for sportscars", says Alex Hawkridge, Chief Executive, Gemini Transmissions, "so the reliability of key components such as the transmission unit is critical to success. We built our unit specifically for long distance races and it has acquitted itself with distinction this weekend. The ROC team did a superb job to look after the car and bring it home at the top of the table in their LMP675 class. A fifth place finish overall is probably the icing on the cake for them - a great result. We're particularly happy, as it appears that none of our transmission competitors have a gearbox capable of going 24 hours."
This year's Le Mans 24 Hour race was one of the toughest tests for man and machine, with torrential rain causing havoc on the track. With over 21 retirements, it is only the best cars and teams that reached the end and Gemini were delighted that the gearbox in the ROC Reynard 2KQ, not only completed the race, but ran well and in one of the quickest LMP675's.

Although Reynard asked us to make considerable modifications for the 01Q gearbox, ROC have persevered with the car in its original configuration and proven that the product is a winner."
