Cunningham heads for Le Mans.

Fresh from a stunning third place finish in the last round of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Donington Park, Neil Cunningham is heading for Le Mans after securing a late call-up to the Barazi-Epsilon team.

The experienced racer will partner Michael Vergers and Juan Barazi in the LMP2 class Courage C65 after Embassy Racing team boss Jonathan France - who Cunningham has driven for for the past two seasons and is now acting as the Kiwis manager - concluded a deal to allow him to compete in the famous race at La Sarthe for the second time.

"I've landed a good drive at Le Mans in an LMP2 car with Michael Vergers," Cunningham told Crash.net Radio. "It was very much a last minute deal with the team, my manager Jonathan France put it together on Sunday night so I'm now on my way to France for testing this weekend.

"Jonathan really did surprise me with this deal. Le Mans is something I enjoyed doing the last time that I did it and I've done the Spa 24 Hours a few times as well and this is the kind of racing I enjoy - the long distance stuff.

"It's the first time I'll have driven an open-top sportscar for a few years although I did launch the Radical SR3 in Florida years ago and that was the last time I raced an open-top sports car. I'm pretty confident, as all racing drivers are, that we can get a good result."
