Vuillemin verve leaves McGrath, Reed tied second.

Defending 'King of Bercy' David Vuillemin looks sure to regain his crown after another 1-1-1 performance on the second night of the three-night Bercy Supercross spectacular.

Vuillemin had little trouble winning the second night ahead of Jeremy McGrath and Nick Wey, with American superstar McGrath continuing to struggle with the 'arm pump' problem that has plagued him all weekend. Nevertheless, the hero of many indoor motocross fans put together a good score with 2-2 results.

Defending 'King of Bercy' David Vuillemin looks sure to regain his crown after another 1-1-1 performance on the second night of the three-night Bercy Supercross spectacular.

Australian Chad Reed went 3-7 after fading in the second final, and the overall placings after two days show Vuillemin leading with two points, ahead of McGrath and Reed, level with six points each.

"I am happy to be winning," the Frenchman said, "For the crowd, it has been exciting. All the top riders have had bad starts, and we have to fight through the field."

McGrath, who had been involved in a crash with Reed on Friday night, proved much quicker on Saturday, although he still had trouble with his arms.

"I don't usually have arm pump, although I did have it at Bercy back in 1997," he revealed, "Sometimes, this track does not help me out."

Reed, who looks a little tentative, was worried about the crash from the previous day.

"I am really sorry for what happened," the Australian admitted, "It's not like me to do that, and I respect Jeremy so much. I wish it had not happened. I was a little nervous that he might pay me back, and I was worried at the start of the first final. I would have expected him to do something had I tried to pass him in that first race."

In the equally well-contested 125cc class, Frenchman Rodrig Thain finally saw his unbeaten record snatched away, as the Americans toppled him in the second of the night's three races. Having finished third behind Tedesco and Sellards in race two, things then got worse for the Frenchman, as he dropped out of the top five altogether in the final event.
