Seguy scores top 5 in Sweden.
Despite racing with injuries Yamaha YZ125 mounted Luigi Seguy produced a great ride to finish in fifth place at the Swedish Grand Prix today.
The French rider has now moved into eight place in the championship standings with 75 points, just two off seventh. Yamaha privateer Josef Dobes finished in fourteenth place, a disappointing result for him after some good results in the previous Grand's Prix.

Mark de Reuver, having had a very disappointing season so far, has unfortunately split with his Yamaha Eggens Racing Team after disagreeing with team owner Theo Eggens about the 'professional approach' of the team.
More positive news was the fact that Italian Luca Cherubini secured the European 125 Championship title aboard a YRRD equipped YZ125 last week in the closing race of the five round championship held in the Ukraine (Russia).
Luigi Seguy's results are somewhat unpredictable this year due to the ongoing problem with his knee, but today in Uddevalla the likeable Fenchman had one of his better days. He gated brilliantly, moving into first place soon after the first corner, holding the lead for the first three laps.
"I felt great," Seguy said. "My knee is still no good and in fact my other (right) knee is also giving me problems now! I just had to be strong and in those first three laps the pace was amazing. First Strijbos pushed me really hard, then Ramon came past me on lap three and while I could stay ahead of Strijbos, Townley was really taking some good lines and on lap nine he also went past."
While Seguy was able to keep a good pace he found that his knee problems and a wrong tyre selection was not helping his progress."While I liked the track it was so slippery and I was getting a lot of pressure from Puzar. The pace in this class is so high, and you need to have everything setup perfectly, we made some mistakes with tires and that was critical. My bike was very, very good, I felt as strong as the KTM riders and I didn't have any problem with speed today. I just need a little luck and I can finish on the podium, it's been a good race for me considering the problems I have with my knee. I look forward to having the next few weeks off from the Grand's Prix and come to Belgium on August 4 with hopefully an improved condition."
Czech rider Josef Dobes enjoyed a good start but then made some errors early in the race and a crash pushed him further down the field. "I had a good start," Dobes said. "After one lap I was in eight place, then I passed Parker for seventh. On lap four Maschio got by and then I began to make mistakes, got nervous and lost my concentration. After ten minutes I had no rhythm and was hitting all the bumps on the track. The front wheel then slipped out and I crashed. Four guys passed me and before I knew it I was way back. With a few laps remaining I could pass Stevanini and move into fourteenth. I did not have too many races with so many mistake as today, I can do better, in Italy and Bulgaria I was inside the top ten easily."
