Reed wins Arnhem World SX GP.

Chad Reed has won tonight's second round of the THQ World Supercross GP at Arnhem, the Netherlands, edging out round one winner David Vuillemin in the last European race before the series goes Stateside for the start of the AMA championship.

Sebastien Tortelli earned the UFO Plast holeshot award with Vuillemin and Reed holding second and third respectively. Reed swept by Tortelli and Vuillemin on lap one for the lead, with Tortelli later falling from third.

On lap 13 LaRocco passed Team KTM/Red Bull's Grant Langston to take third place behind the Yamahas - a position he would hold to the flag, while Langston held off Tortelli to finish fourth.

Tim Ferry never really featured at the sharp end, perhaps due to his confidence sapping crash on Thurday, however the Floridian took valuable points for sixth tonight ahead of Jeremy McGrath.

McGrath, the seven times SX champion, is now in danger of not even being top KTM, thanks to Langston's impressive performances in the opening two rounds.

The series now moves to Anaheim for the start of the AMA Supercross championship, where Reed and Vuillemin will face the likes of American Honda's reigning champ Ricky Carmichael.

"I am glad this is the world championship," said a delighted Reed, who needs to beat those that entered the two European races, in the remaining 15 rounds, to claim the world title - Carmichael can now only win the AMA crown. "I am ready to win each week from here on out. I don't practice hard all week to come here and lose. I wanted this win all week, and I am ready to go back to America and keep winning."

"I was sick all week, so I am happy with my results," added Vuillemin, who keeps the points lead. "I am ready to go back to the U.S. and compete for the rest of the series."

In tonight's other main event, Flyin' Dutchman Marc de Reuver took 125cc honours.
