Stewart sweeps Anaheim.
James Stewart created a little piece of history on Sunday night, becoming the first rider to clean sweep the three Anaheim rounds of the Amp'd Mobile World Supercross GP and AMA Supercross Series.
The Kawasaki rider came out on top for the third time at Angel Stadium in the 2006-07 by beating Chad Reed and Tim Ferry into second and third places, making the most of San Francisco winner Ricky Carmichael's absence.

The Kawasaki rider came out on top for the third time at Angel Stadium in the 2006-07 by beating Chad Reed and Tim Ferry into second and third places, making the most of San Francisco winner Ricky Carmichael's absence.
Honda's Nick Wey won the $1500 Progressive Direct Holeshot Award, bit could do nothing about Stewart, who led by end of the opening lap. With Yamaha star Reed going with him, the stage was set for another showdown between two of the biggest names in AMA competition, and so it proved, with the Australian taking advantage of a Stewart spin to close on the lead on lap four, but then seeing Stewart regain top spot and ride impeccably under pressure for the remaining 15 laps.
Behind the duelling duo, Kawasaki's Ferry claimed his first podium of the season, but was never a factor for the victory.
Kawasaki enjoyed a successful night all round, with Ryan Villopoto picking up his fourth AMA Supercross Lites win of the season. He started the main event by winning the $1000 Progressive Direct Holeshot Award and dominated from then on.
Behind Villopoto, Honda's Josh Grant and KTM's Martin Davalos initially battled over second, before Davalos came up short on a jump, allowing Yamaha's Jason Lawrence to take possession of third place. Unchallenged, Villopoto joined Ivan Tedesco and Ernesto Fonseca in completing his own seasonal sweep of the Lites class races at Angel Stadium.
