Moto2: Roberto Locatelli tests 2011 ADV chassis
2000 125cc world champion Roberto Locatelli, who retired from grand prix racing at the end of last year, has been helping the ADV with its 2011 Moto2 chassis design.
ADV is presently represented only by the WTR San Marino Team and is yet to score a Moto2 point, but has high hopes for next year's design.
"Having never tried a Moto2 bike, I enjoyed it very much," said Locatelli, after testing an early version of the 2011 chassis at Mugello this week. "It is very agile and precise.
"The ADV has great properties: it is agile and it has great accuracy in the entry. Moreover, it is very precise in changing [direction] and it reacts promptly.
"I can say that this project is very well developed and I would like to have the chance to carry other tests with the ADV. The Mugello circuit is the suitable stage to test any kind of prototype," added Locatelli, a winner of nine 125cc grands prix, who also claimed six podiums in the 250cc class.
ADV's next test is scheduled to take place after the three flyaway MotoGP rounds in Japan, Malaysia and Australia.
