Moto2: Kenan Sofuoglu chooses Technomag for 2011
Reigning double World Supersport champion Kenan Sofuoglu will stay with the Technomag-CIP Suter team for the full 2011 Moto2 season.
Sofuoglu has joined the team, which took victory in the first ever Moto2 race with the late Shoya Tomizawa, for the last two rounds of this year - and led on his debut last weekend at Estoril.
The Turkish rider's impressive performance prompted interest from rival teams, including Gresini Moriwaki, which needs a high-profile signing to replace inaugural Moto2 champion Toni Elias, who is returning to MotoGP next year.
As previously reported, an offer had been on the table from Gresini, but a statement on the Technomag team's website reveals that Sofuoglu has decided to stay where he is for 2011.
26-year-old Sofuoglu, the most successful WSS rider in history with 17 race wins, will start Sunday's Valencia season finale from sixth on the grid.
