Moto2: UK-based sponsor for Tech 3
A leading UK care home group is to become a sponsor for the Tech 3 Moto2 team.
Award-winning Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG), founded by motorsport enthusiast Phil Burgan, is to back the new line-up of Englishman Danny Kent and Frenchman Louis Rossi.
"Caring about the future of British motorsport is something that I'm very passionate about and the opportunity for MMCG to be marketed alongside the success of Tech 3 is an opportunity we couldn't turn down," said Burgan.
"Motorcycle sport may be far removed from the day-to-day business of caring, however the brand exposure that we experience provides a perfect marketing platform for MMCG. I believe that Danny Kent has the potential to be the best British motorcycle racer of all time."
Over the years, MMCG has supported numerous two- and four-wheel championships, as well as personal sponsorship of former double World Superbike champion James Toseland.
Burgan also founded the Phil Burgan Race Academy (PBRA) in 2007, a sponsorship programme which provides financial and consultative support to British motorcycle racers and teams.
"I have known Phil for some time because of his association with our former MotoGP rider James Toseland, and I am sure our new partnership will be a successful one," said Tech 3 boss Herve Poncharal.
"Everybody is very excited to see Danny and Louis in 2013 on our new Mistral 610 machine. We have been working non-stop during the winter to improve the bike and I am convinced we can deliver a competitive machine that will allow Danny and Louis to show their full potential."
Tech 3, backed by Monster in MotoGP, has raced its own chassis in Moto2 since the inaugural 2010 season - when it won a race.
The team's 2013 livery will be unveiled for the first time during the final official IRTA pre-season tests in Jerez on March 17.
