Moto2: Tech 3's Alex Marinelarena injured at private test

Tech 3 Racing has revealed that Moto2 rider Alex Marinelarena has been put in a medically induced coma following a heavy fall at Paul Ricard in France.

The team was testing at the French circuit along with the Technomag carXpert Team when the accident occurred on Thursday afternoon.

A statement issued by Tech 3 Racing said: "During the afternoon hours, Alex Marinelarena suffered a heavy fall which knocked him out of consciousness.

"While the medical staff of the circuit were administering first aid at the scene, the 21-year-old Spanish rider was awake and able speak to the doctors.

"He was then taken to the Saint-Anne hospital in Toulon to undergo further examinations, where the medical staff decided to put him into a medically induced coma.

"There is no further medical information regarding Alex's condition available for the moment, but the Tech 3 Racing Team will provide information as soon as his condition improves."
