AGR withdraws from Moto2, Moto3
The AGR team, which has been running Joe Roberts in Moto2 (Kalex) and Maria Herrera in Moto3 (KTM), will not take part in the last four races of the 2017 season.
The decision has been made due to 'financial difficulties… The lack of results also makes the situation worse'.
The team will now focus on 'finishing the FIM CEV Moto2 season in the best possible way' and 'prepare a competitive project for next season in the [world] championship'.
AGR began the Moto2 season with former MotoGP rider Yonny Hernandez, but the Colombian split from the team during the summer break.
Roberts, 20, was then promoted from AGR's CEV Moto2 team, scoring points with an impressive tenth on his grand prix debut in the wet Brno race.
The American is currently fifth in the CEV standings, with two podiums. Roberts is just five points from Hector Garzo (who qualified fifth for Tech 3 at the wet German Grand Prix) with three races remaining. Team-mate and countryman Jayson Uribe is eleventh.
Roberts has already confirmed his full-time place on the 2018 grand prix grid, signing to race the NTS chassis at RW Racing alongside Steven Odendaal. Odendaal and NTS are currently third in the CEV standings.
Herrera, who has scored one point this season, has been sidelined since breaking her right collarbone in the wet Misano warm-up.
