MotoGP has announced that the next edition of its Virtual series will be a full 'Red Bull Virtual Grand Prix of Spain' to be broadcast on Sunday, May 3, coinciding with the planned date of the postponed Spanish MotoGP.

Fittingly, the Jerez circuit has been chosen as the venue for the third digital battle which, for the first time, is to feature online races for all three classes; Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP.

Premier-class teams can enter one rider each, 'with the exception of the Repsol Honda Team, who can enter two [Marc and Alex Marquez] as reigning MotoGP Champions'.

In Moto2 and Moto3, which were not part of the earlier Virtual races, ten riders can enter in each category with preference given in championship order following the results of the season-opening Qatar Grand Prix.

Alex Marquez (Repsol Honda) took victory in MotoGP's Virtual Race 1, held around an online replica of Mugello in Italy.

Francesco Bagnaia (Pramac Ducati) then snatched a close victory over Maverick Vinales (Monster Yamaha) with a 'pass on the grass' in Virtual Race 2, which took place around the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

Jerez is also expected to be the first Virtual race to use the latest (2020) version of the official MotoGP Playstation game and will once again be broadcast online and by TV networks.
