warm-up lap
Here we go then. The riders are off for the warm-up lap.
Five minutes till lights out.
There is definitely a few light spots of rain on the helicopter camera, with a bit of low cloud having over the track.
tyre choice
According to the timing screens, everyone is now on the medium rear apart from Nakagami on the soft.
Everyone is on the hard front tyre.
With tyre wear set to play a part in this grand prix, that should make Bastianini a big threat if he can make a good start from fourth on the grid.
After Bagnaia won the sprint, Martin's championship lead is down to 15 points ahead of the grand prix.
Just 15 minutes till lights out.
Most rider did their work on Friday on soft rubber, which Michelin said at the time was a good option for the grand prix.
However, most have gone to the grid on the medium rear. Tyre drop off was quite a bit bigger on the soft in the sprint than expected.
It's a very, very slow sighting lap. Motegi is ultra demanding on fuel.
Due to he conditions on Saturday, Bagnaia did the warm-up lap on a higher fuel map than normal to assess conditions, which meant he had to race with a slower engine map.
The field is heading out onto the Motegi circuit for the sighting lap to the grid.
The weather is dry for now, but it could well play a part in this grand prix.
