Binder takes fourth from Quartararo into Turn 8. The Yamaha fights back at Turn 9 though and takes the place back!
Martin leads by 0.4s onto lap two from Bagnaia and Marquez. Acosta moved ahead of Quartararo for fourth - but he runs well wide at Turn 3 and drops right down.

"Just went out for a look. It's strange, pitlane soaked but it's really only light drizzle. But dense cloud so not going to dry too easily I suspect."
It's worth noting, in 2022 in Thailand Bagnaia had a great race in wet conditions having previously struggled in those conditions. A pre-race pep talk from former team-mate Jack Miller proved very helpful to Bagnaia that day.

After yesterday's sprint, Jorge Martin now leads the championship by 22 points over Francesco Bagnaia.
This is a big grand prix for both, but this weather will just be heaping the nerves on both.
Today's race will be the last for Di Giannantonio in 2024 as he heads off for surgery next week on the left shoulder he dislocated in Austria.
