Franco Morbidelli has crashed at turn two. He seems to be okay, but it's a disruption he might not have wanted in the opening 10 minutes of PR.
Marc Marquez is back in the pits having completed only one lap. Unclear exactly what the issue is, or even if there is an issue at all.
Meanwhile, Marco Bezzecchi has hit the top, he leads from Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta.
Jorge Martin has set the early pace in this PR session, he's immediately into the 1:40s and 0.3s clear of Francesco Bagnaia.
Practice is officially underway in Barcelona and the riders are filtering out on track now for one hour of PR.
The title contenders - Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia - were fifth and seventh, respectively, this morning. Obviously, for both riders it will be critical to finish this session inside the top-10 and advance directly to Q2.
Takaaki Nakagami surprised this morning by going fastest in FP1 on the LCR Honda, but he was one of the only riders to take a fresh tyre at the end of the session.
Welcome back to Barcelona and the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for live updates from the upcoming Practice session for this weekend's MotoGP Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona, which is set to get underway in just over 10 minutes at 15:00 local time.
The chequered flag is out in Barcelona and it's Takaaki Nakagami who ends on top, ahead of Pedro Acosta and Alex Marquez. Jorge Martin was fastest of the two title contenders in fifth, while Francesco Bagnaia was seventh.
A late time attack from Nakagami puts him on top by 0.4s. That 1:40.501 might be enough to put Nakagami on top in the first session of his final weekend as a full-time MotoGP rider.
Bagnaia bacl in the pits now, as are most riders with eight minutes on the clock.
Bagnaia sets a PB on his latest lap, 0.9s faster than Bastianini on the latest lap.
Bagnaia showing decent pace on his current run. His medium rear tyre has the same number of laps as that of Bastianini, 14, but he's lapping around half-a-second faster than his teammate on the last lap.
There's been a crash for Nakagami, he's the first victim of turn two - and probably not the last. He seems okay but the fairing's got a big hole in the side.
Bit of a lull in the session at the moment. A few riders in pit lane, and whose who are on track are on used tyres and attempting some sort of race sim.
Enea Bastianini's latest lap has popped him up to fourth, while Marc Marquez has jumped up to seventh.
Times are tight at the moment: only 0.447s covering the top 10, which stretches back to Luca Marini.
Acosta now to the top. Remember, he was challenging Jorge Martin for the lead here in May when he crashed out.
Meanwhile, Alex Marquez is up to second, and Bagnaia is back in the pits along with Martin.
Bagnaia up to second with his latest lap but Martin still the only rider in the 1:40s.
In terms of tyres, almost everyone out with the soft-compound front and medium-compound rear. Exceptions are Augusto Fernandez who has a soft rear and medium front, and Pirro who has a medium at both ends.
Bagnaia briefly went fastest but Martin is now the first rider into the 1:40s.
Martin hits the top with his first timed lap of the session. Times are, unsurprisingly, a way off, though, with Martin's 1:41.820. For reference, Pedro Acosta's fastest lap of the Catalan Grand Prix was a 1:39.664.
The pit lane is open again in Barcelona and it's Francesco Bagnaia who's first out on track.
It's Joan Mir fastest at the moment with the session still under a red flag and with 39 minutes still on the clock. Of course, this is the final weekend of the Repsol Honda partnership, but it's hard to see Mir maintaining that position atop the times considering Honda's recent form.
Some crashes early on. Michele Pirro crashed at turn five on the VR46 Ducati, and now both Tech3 GasGas riders have crashed together after making contact at turn five. All seem to be okay, but the red flag is out after the crash for Augusto Fernandez and Pedro Acosta.
One additional entry this weekend with Stefan Bradl wildcarding for HRC in anticipation of Tuesday's post-race test. Also, Michele Pirro is in Barcelona this weekend to replace the injured Fabio Di Giannantonio.
We have a green light at the end of pit lane and the riders are heading out on-track now for this opening practice session of the weekend.
