Acosta pits, just a normal 6 lap run, no race simulation yet.
KTM's Pedro Acosta is the first rider out during 'Session 2', after the practice start period.
So, with air temp now 34 degrees and ground 52, this is roughly what we expect to see from the remaining hours of testing:
Race simulations and used tyre work from 2-4pm, around Sprint/Grand Prix time. Then some riders will pack up, job done. Others with more to do will keep working and we should also see some more time attacks as the temperature drops in the closing hours.
Only three riders have so far not gone faster than on day one: Alex Rins, Fermin Aldeguer and Enea Bastianini.
No track action at the moment as teams and riders take an unofficial lunch break.
There were some longer runs by Alex Rins (Monster Yamaha) and Maverick Vinales (Tech3 KTM) just before the break:
Alex Rins:
1'31.540
1'31.056
1'31.068
1'30.974
1'30.982
1'30.803
1'31.151
1'31.014
1'31.441
Average = 1m 31.114s
Maverick Vinales:
1'31.706
1'30.642
1'30.348
1'30.424
1'30.653
1'33.183
1'30.750
1'30.784
1'41.000*
1'30.688
1'30.345
1'30.806
Average (removing the very slow 1m 41s lap) = 1m 30.939s
For comparison, Pedro Acosta did a 10-lap run on day 1 with an average of 1m 30.335s. KTM team-mate Brad Binder did a 12-lap run with an average of 1m 30.538s.
More riders are expected to do Sprint simulations this afternoon.
With the first practice start period complete, normal testing resumes and runs until 6pm.
Fabio Quartararo struggled with a strange feeling from the front tyres on his M1 on day one and didn't feel he could push to the limit. But it didn't prevent him from doing this stoppie...!

Marco Bezzecchi at Buriram this morning, this is presumably his planned RS-GP configuration for the Thai race weekend, including the 'rabbit ear' vertical rear wings.

1pm Results - Buriram MotoGP Test Results, Day 2
Normally testing will now briefly stop for the first of today's practice start periods.
10mins of the 'morning' session to go and Francesco Bagnaia is up to 5th place, 0.523s behind team-mate Marc Marquez.
Alex Marquez, Pedro Acosta and Marco Bezzecchi are in between.
Franco Morbidelli has made it four Ducatis in the top six.
It looks like both Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia have been using the 2024 fairing this morning.
A picture comparison with the new fairing (which Bagnaia was seen trying on day 1) below:

Pedro Acosta (KTM) has the highest top speed today of 337.5km/h, followed by another KTM of Maverick Vinales and the Aprilia of Marco Bezzecchi on 336.4km/h. Acosta's team-mate Brad Binder has 335.4km/h, matched by Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia.
Fabio Quartararo has set a 334.3km/h for Yamaha with Honda's power deficit clear with a best of 332.3km/h, by Joan Mir.
Just a reminder that in 35mins time the test will briefly stop for some practice starts on the main straight.
Taking a dive into the lap times, Marc Marquez's best lap was unsurprisingly a new tyre time attack where he beat his previous best lap of the day by half a second.
Ducati team-mate Francesco Bagnaia, after also starting the day with longer runs, did a pair of time attacks but was almost one-second behind Marquez.
But the rider with the most 1m 29s laps today, 7 of them, is KTM's Pedro Acosta (3rd).
It's too early for race simulations, but we should see some of those this afternoon (at the race start time).
The top ten by manufacturer: Ducati, Ducati, KTM, Aprilia, Ducati, Aprilia, Honda, KTM, Ducati, Yamaha.
Francesco Bagnaia's official pole record is a 1m 28.700s, which looks set to be beaten today.
That's the first 1m 28s lap of the week and put him 0.179s ahead of brother Alex.
Marc Marquez is rolling up his sleeves and pushing for a lap time, fastest sectors.... boom! P1!
It's Enea Bastianini, Miguel Oliveira, Fermin Aldeguer and Lorenzo Savadori at the tail of the timesheets.
Bastianini is still struggling to adapt to the corner entry style needed on the KTM, while Oliveira has appeared a step behind the other M1s at Sepang and Buriram so far.
Aldeguer is a surprise. Having the same GP24 that's leading the timesheets with Gresini team-mate Alex Marquez means he should at least be a close match for fellow rookie Ai Ogura and ahead of Somkiat Chantra on the LCR Honda. Aprilia test rider Savadori is standing in for Martin.
There will be another break for practice starts at lunch time today. So Session 1 will run until 1pm, then the break for practice starts. Then Session 2 runs until 6pm, and then more practice starts.
Francesco Bagnaia climbs into 8th place, 0.698s behind Alex Marquez, on his 22nd lap of the day.
Again, the Italian looks to be working with used tyres.
