The RNF Aprilia rider was wiped out by Marc Marquez on the third grand prix lap of the season-opener in Portimao, causing injuries to both men which meant they skipped the MotoGP Argentina.

Oliveira now expects to return for the third round in Austin, Texas, while Marquez remains unconfirmed.

"I'm obviously excited and happy to be able to fly to Texas," Oliveira said.

"It was annoying for me to miss the grand prix in Argentina, now I'm looking forward to the restart and working with the team.

"I'm curious to see how this bike behaves on the track in Austin."

"COTA hasn't been an easy track for me in the past, so I hope we can turn this situation around this year and start the weekend strongly.

“It would be nice if I could score points in the sprint and in the race on Sunday.

That would also be very important after the three zeros in the last three competitions. Overall, I'm really excited about the coming weekend."

Oliveira suffered injuries to his right leg in the collision with Marquez in Portimao.
