Yamaha will return to a historic red and white livery for the upcoming Assen TT and United States Grand Prix rounds of the 2011 MotoGP World Championship as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.

The modern interpretation of the iconic Yamaha Racing livery will be seen on the bikes of Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies for two rounds this season, while the Yamaha staff and team crew will also be adorned in the new colours.

Part of a series of activities that Yamaha is arranging to celebrate its half-century of grand prix racing, a 50th anniversary logo already adorns the fuel tank of the current YZF-M1.

The livery will first be seen at a special event to be hosted near Assen on Wednesday 22nd June before appearing in race trim at both the Assen and Laguna Seca events.
