Aspar goes blue with Power Electronics
The Aspar team is set to run in a blue livery this season, with Power Electronics officially presented as the team's new MotoGP title sponsor on Thursday.
"I am confident that, with the contribution of Power Electronics, we will put together a great season, and will reinforce our image internationally," stated team principal Jorge Martinez 'Aspar'.
Aspar is switching from Ducati to Aprilia CRT machinery for its third year in the premier-class, when it will also expand its line-up to two (new) riders, having signed Randy de Puniet and Aleix Espargaro.
The squad will officially be known as the 'Power Electronics Aspar Team' and although the 2012 colours are yet to be unveiled, the team looks set to change from a red-and-white to blue-based livery.
"The category is new, so are the bikes, and it's a very inspiring project," said Espargaro during the presentation.
"I am convinced that the blue colour will bring us luck, and I am sure the connection between Power Electronics and Aspar Team will be synonymous of success."
Aspar will once again run riders in all three world championship classes during 2012.
Mapfre was Aspar's 2011 title sponsor.
