David Salom has announced that he will not finish the season with the Avintia Blusens CRT squad.

The Spaniard confirmed the news through his twitter account (@davidsalomds) by saying: "It is clear that the results have not been great but neither has the situation."

Salom will be replaced by Ivan Silva, whom Salom had replaced two races ago.

An official statement from the team said that it decided to bring back Silva in order to use the final four races as a 'test' for their bike's technical evolution.

The statement acknowledged the assistance and involvement shown by Salom and wished him well for the future.

Salom told motogp.com: "The team gave me the opportunity to ride the bike, which I appreciate, and has now decided not to continue.

"It is true that the results have not arrived, but the conditions in these two races have not been the best, and they have been two difficult races.

"I already said I expected things to be better from Japan, but won't have the chance to prove it... I wish Ivan the best of luck."

For Salom a move to World Superbikes seems most likely with the Spaniard revealing that he has been in negotiations with the Pedercini team for 2013.
