Stoner starts Sepang MotoGP test
Former MotoGP champion Casey Stoner testing for HRC at Sepang.
Retired double MotoGP champion Casey Stoner began his latest private Honda test at Sepang on Thursday.
The Malaysian visit marks Stoner's first test outside of Japan since leaving MotoGP at the end of 2012, at the age of 27. The Australian is expected to help with development of this year's RC213V as well as the 2016 Michelin tyres.
Stoner's former Ducati and Honda crew chief Christian Gabbarini can be seen in the tweet below. Gabbarini will work with Stoner's countryman and MotoGP rookie Jack Miller this season.
The 2015 MotoGP riders will hold their first official test of the year at Sepang from February 4-7. Stoner, back on track tomorrow, will take part in at least one further HRC test this year.
Had a good test today, didn't get the number of laps that I would have liked but still got some decent data. pic.twitter.com/FUKHWPpOOW-- Casey Stoner (@Official_CS27) January 29, 2015
