New GIVI livery for Cal Crutchlow

"GIVI will be the Title Sponsor on Crutchlow's Honda RC213V at his home race"

Alongside the announcement of Cal Crutchlow's 2016 contract was news that LCR's troubled title sponsor CWM will be replaced by GIVI for this weekend's British MotoGP.

Motorcycle accessories brand GIVI has been the main sponsor on Jack Miller's Open class bike since round one in Qatar (pictured), but will now appear on the fairings of team-mate Crutchlow's factory RC213V.

CWM, a London-based Forex trading company, was raided by police over fraud allegations just before Qatar, with 13 people arrested.

LCR has continued to honour its side of the contract by running CWM-related logos and naming rights, while waiting to hear a decision on remaining payments.

It is thought the money already received from CWM covered the season up to Brno, which would explain why a change has now been made.

However the LCR statement referred only to Silverstone and not what will happen for the rest of the season:

"LCR is also pleased to announce that GIVI (a long-term partner of the LCR Honda Team) will be the Title Sponsor on Crutchlow's Honda RC213V at his home race, the British Grand Prix, at Silverstone this weekend.

"LCR Honda Team would like to sincerely thank CWM for their support."

LCR expanded to two bikes due to the CWM title sponsorship deal, but may now return to only a single bike entry for Crutchlow in 2016.

Rookie Miller is starting a multi-year deal with HRC and would be placed at another team if LCR cuts back.

LCR ran a new Castrol livery at the Brno post-race test, which team manager Lucio Cecchinello explained was for a video commercial. However Cecchinello was unable to confirm that CWM branding would be back on the bike for Silverstone, further fueling speculation that a sponsor change was imminent.
