Overcautious Edwards angry at two places lost.

Stuart Edwards made his first finish in 2001 with a 26th place in Jerez, but was left angry with a mistake he made when Katoh came to lap him in the closing stages of the 250cc Spanish Grand Prix.

The TSR team knew from qualifying that Edwards could be lapped by the dominating Japanese rider, and so were careful to avoid holding up the Honda pilot. However, when the pit crew gave Stuart the sign that Katoh was closing the Englishman was overcautious and sat up too early, resulting in the loss of two places that were never recovered.
