Proton V5 set for January track debut.
The Banbury-based Proton KR MotoGP team are on course to test their new five-cylinder 990cc four-stroke at the end of January, at Jerez, Spain.
The team are working flat-out to produce the engine that they have both designed and built at their Oxfordshire headquarters. They hope to have the engine actually running by the end of this month.
Team Owner American Kenny Roberts, a three-times World 500cc Champion, has earmarked the scheduled tyre test at Jerez in the third week of January to run the complete machine for the first time.
