Pictures: Rossi's M1 debut.

These are the first pictures from Sepang of reigning world champion Valentino Rossi riding a Yamaha M1 for the first time.

The pictures show (from bottom to top) the Italian talking with crew chief Jerry Burgess, going through his now familiar ritual before stepping onto his new bike and then at speed around the Sepang circuit.

The #46 will ride in Gauloises colours this season, but is testing in an interim black livery at present while the final livery is decided upon.

The three other Yamaha riders - Carlos Checa, Marco Melandri and Norick Abe - are also at Sepang for the three-day test.

The mark Rossi and Yamaha will be aiming for is a 2mins 2.585secs circulation, set by arch-rival Max Biaggi during Honda's test earlier in the week.
