Melandri heads for Malaysia.

Further checks on Marco Melandri, who sustained a deep flesh wound after being accidentally rammed by Valentino Rossi during Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi, have revealed no bone fractures or internal injuries.

Melandri required immediate surgery at the Clinica Mobile after the accident, to repair damage caused by a footpeg on his Movistar Honda digging into his right foot during the fall. The Italian was then taken to a nearby hospital for a more detailed examination of his injuries.

With no further damage found, Melandri is now heading for Sepang, where a decision will be taken later this week as to whether he can ride in Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix.

Rossi was uninjured in the fall and will be looking to wrap up the 2005 title this weekend.
