Chaz chasing World Supersport ride.
Former 125 and 250 grand prix rider Chaz Davies was at Brands Hatch today (Friday), examining the possibility of a switch to the World Superbike paddock.
19-year-old Davies, who became the youngest rider to score 250GP points during the 2003 season, lost his privateer Campetella ride earlier this year due to a lack of team funding. With only a one-off ride replacing the injured Arnaud Vincent at Arie Molenaar Racing available since, the tall Briton is now considering leaving the grand prix paddock and turning his attention to four-strokes.

"I'm just looking for a ride really," Chaz told Crash.net Radio at Brands. "I'm still without a ride this season and, after everything that has gone on, I'm looking to get back on a bike. I'm getting a little bored and need to get riding again. I'm thinking about getting on a four stroke and this is the first step.
"I'd prefer 600s or Superbike, I don't think Superstock is really for me. I think 600s would have to be the first step because it's very difficult to just go straight into Superbikes.
"The only four-stroke I've ever tested is a 1000cc Suzuki for a day and a 750 Suzuki for another couple of days. They were stock bikes and it was just to get a feel for it. I was quite surprised by the 1000, about just how quick it was. It had some go, which was the biggest difference to the 250.
"The 250 is quick but they're aggressive as well and you really need to ride them on a fine line, whereas these bikes are a lot softer. They move around a bit more and you get a lot more feeling from them, but they're a lot quicker. The engine braking is a big difference on a four stroke, but I ride a lot of Supermotard and use the finger-on-the-clutch trick to try and feather it out so it's not really a big problem for me," he added.
Although without a race ride since his stand-in appearance at Donington Park in early July, Chaz - whose parents run a karting track - has unsurprisingly kept himself busy.
"I've been at home doing a bit of cycling, riding a lot of minibikes - mini supermotard - and I'm going to start doing a lot of Motocross soon," said Chaz. "(BSB rider) Michael Laverty has just moved in to our place so we've been having some fun."
