The livery unveiled at Wednesday's Renault F1 launch (top picture) confirmed that, as predicted last week, Spanish telecommunications giant Telefonica has left the team - almost certainly due to the departure of world champion Fernando Alonso to McLaren.

It now remains to be seen if Telefonica and/or its mobile phone operation Movistar will return to the MotoGP World Championship and, more specifically, become the new title sponsor of the as-yet-unbranded Factory Yamaha Team, which includes seven-times world champion Valentino Rossi...

Telefonica-Movistar pulled out of motorcycle grand prix racing at the end of the 2005 season after superstar prot?g?e Dani Pedrosa was confirmed in rival Repsol Honda colours for his debut MotoGP season.
