Marquez, Vinales, Crutchlow lead warm-up

Marc Marquez continued his domination of the Grand Prix of the Americas by topping MotoGP morning warm-up from fellow Catalan Maverick Viñales.

The reigning world champion posted eight laps in the 20-minute session, with his fastest time of 2m 4.988s 0.6s faster than Viñales’ best, who will start this afternoon’s race from pole position.

Championship leader Cal Crutchlow was a promising third, 0.09s back of Viñales, with front row starter Andrea Iannone fourth and Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro a much improved fifth after a disastrous Saturday afternoon.

Andrea Dovizioso was sixth with Alex Rins (seventh) heading the Ducati trio of Jack Miller (eighth), Danilo Petrucci (ninth) and Jorge Lorenzo (tenth).

Valentino Rossi was 1.7s off Marquez’s quickest pace and could place no higher than eleventh, while regular podium man Johann Zarco was 13th.
