Could Jorge Lorenzo claim his third Ducati MotoGP win at Brno this weekend?

Many feel the Spaniard is one of the pre-event favourites, given his affinity with at the Czech Republic circuit and the Desmosedici's impressive horsepower.

Lorenzo won the Brno event in 2010 and 2015 for Yamaha, alongside three more MotoGP podiums.

Last year, the Spaniard received wings on this Ducati for the first time and was instantly more competitive, leading the opening three laps of the wet-dry race (pictured) only to drop out of contention due to a problem during his bike swap.

"After a few days of rest we arrive at Brno with our batteries recharged and with high expectations," Lorenzo said. "This is one of the circuits where I feel most at home and I’m sure that here we’ll be a lot stronger than what we were at Assen and Sachsenring.

"Brno is the ideal circuit to start the second half of the season and I think we will be competitive right from the very first day. I can’t wait to get out on track, and I’m sure we are going to have a great time."

Lorenzo is sixth in the world championship, two places and three points behind team-mate Andrea Dovizioso, whose best Brno result is second in 2011.

“After the WDW at Misano and a short break, I’m now ready for the second part of the season and very excited about the next round in the Czech Republic," Dovi said "Brno is one of the most beautiful and most difficult circuits on the MotoGP calendar, but it has a lot of fascination.

"We are still missing something in the management of the tyres during the race, but I expect us to be competitive and fight for the victory at every circuit from Brno onwards.”
