Vinales leads Yamaha 1-2 in warm-up

Maverick Viñales left it late to top MotoGP morning warm-up at Sepang on a rapidly drying track, ahead of Valentino Rossi and Jack Miller.

Starting the session at an earlier rescheduled hour, riders found a drying line on the 3.4-mile track, only for it to widen as the clock ticked down.

Lap times steadily decreased, with Viñales going quickest with his final effort of 2m 11.476s, 0.9s of a second faster than Rossi. All riders were using wet tyres.

As he was on Saturday, Miller was competitive again, with Marc Marquez (fourth), Michele Pirro (fifth) and Scott Redding (sixth) all placing inside the top six.

Andrea Dovizioso (seventh), Alex Rins (eighth), Alvaro Bautista (ninth) and Dani Pedrosa (tenth) rounded out the top ten.
