Assen confirms Dutch TT postponed
The 90th running of the Dutch TT at Assen, due to take place on June 28, has been postponed.
Official confirmation is yet to be issued by MotoGP organisers but the circuit has announced that a recent extension of the country's ban on sporting events (including 'closed-door' competitions) until September 1 means this year's grand prix 'will be postponed until the autumn or until next season'.

Assen is 'very disappointed' by the need to postpone but 'fully support the government’s decision. The health of the fans and all other parties involved is our highest priority.' Tickets already purchased will remain valid.
Traditionally held on the last weekend in June, the coronavirus pandemic meant that Assen had become round two on the heavily-revised MotoGP calendar (see below), just one week after Germany.
But the Sachsenring is also set to be postponed after the country extended its ban on large public events until the end of August.
With the only July round, scheduled for the KymiRing in Finland, yet to receive circuit homologation, August is now seen as the best-case scenario to hold an opening MotoGP race of the season, albeit behind closed doors...
