After a fourth-month delay due to the coronavirus pandemic, MotoGP finally returns with two back-to-back races held behind closed doors at Jerez in Spain.

It'll mark the start of 13 races in the space of just 18 weeks, with the possibility of any end-of-year flyaways still to be decided.

Yamaha stars Maverick Vinales and Fabio Quartararo set the pace during Wednesday's test session at the Spanish track, but with Honda's reigning six-time champion and defending Jerez winner Marc Marquez also consistently fast.

As has been the case throughout pre-season testing, lap times were incredibly close, with all six manufacturers featuring in a top-nine covered by just 0.8s in the final session.

Meanwhile, the later than usual date for the Jerez round means scorching temperatures are set to push man and machine to the limit this weekend.

MotoE will also make its 2020 debut this weekend, while it'll be round two for the Moto2 and Moto3 classes, which got to race in Qatar.
