Malaysian MotoGP, Sepang - Qualifying 1
Rain began falling on part of the circuit in the closing stages of the session.
The top two riders in Q1 - Andrea Iannone and Aleix Espargaro - now progress to the Q2 pole position shootout, where they will join the ten fastest riders after third practice.
The others will start, in the following order, from 13th on the grid onwards.
Yonny Hernandez continues to replace Ben Spies at Pramac Ducati, with Damian Cudlin taking over from Hernandez at PBM and World Supersport-ace Scassa replacing the injured Karel Abraham at Cardion AB..
Michael Laverty has taken over the ART of ex-team-mate Hernandez, with Cudlin on the PBM bike.
