Spanish MotoGP - Free Practice (3) Results

Petrucci defends P1 during a thrilling FP3 for the Spanish MotoGP at Jerez, which saw the all-time circuit record repeatedly broken.

The pace of change meant Rossi went from fastest to eleventh in the space of a few minutes and will join factory Yamaha team-mate Vinales in Qualifying 1.

By contrast, Quartararo had an excellent session on the satellite M1, with fellow rookie Mir also impressing for Suzuki.

The session was interrupted at the halfway stage after a fast turn nine accident for Crutchlow caused damage to an airfence. The Englishman returned and secured direct access to Qualifying 2.

Large parts of the Jerez circuit have been resurfaced since the November test, with Michelin bringing four different front and rear tyre options as a result.

Smith and Bradl are making wild-card appearances this weekend.
