Italian MotoGP - Free Practice (3) Results

Petrucci and Ducati hit the top of their home Italian MotoGP timesheets, with a new lap record during FP3 at Mugello.

But it was bad news for two other local stars with team-mate Dovizioso and Yamaha's Rossi failing to make the top ten and heading for Qualifying 1.

Rossi, riding with a new helmet design, ran wide at the final turn on his best lap, ending his chances.

Dovizioso made no obvious mistake and was certainly quick enough on the straight, breaking his own all-time top speed record from Mugello last year by clocking 356.7km/h 221.6mph.

KTM's Espargaro was an excellent second, with the aid of a tow.

Rins fell on his out lap and is another championship frontrunner heading for Q1. Zarco and Syahrin joined Rins in failing to beat their Friday best.
