Musgrave will drive for Donlavey in Bud Shootout.

Winston Cup driver Ted Musgrave has found a car to drive in the Feb. 11 Bud Shootout at Daytona International Speedway, and it will have Hills Bros Coffee decals and Junie Donlavey's familiar No. 90 on it, Donlavey announced today.

Musgrave was the fastest second-round qualifier for the Pennsylvania 500 in July at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania. Musgrave and the rest of the fastest second-round qualifiers were part of a drawing for one starting spot in the Bud Shootout, and Musgrave's name was drawn.

"I could not remember the last time that Junie Donlavey was in The Winston or Bud Shootout," Musgrave said. "I did not want to go to a multi-car team because I knew Junie would enjoy being a part of the event more than a multi-car team would, and it is also was something Junie could offer to Hills Bros Coffee as an additional opportunity for exposure in the 2001 season."

"Junie has given so much to so many people in racing that it is a joy for me to give him an opportunity to be in the first event of the 2001 season."

"I am excited to help Ted out with the Shootout," Donlavey said. "He is a good guy and needs an opportunity to shine. We are going to use our backup car for Ted and a setup similar to Hut's race setup for the Shootout. There will be some small changes we plan to try, but hopefully, we can gain some information that will help us in the qualifying race on Thursday."

Coincidentally, Hills Bros Coffee Racing driver Hut Stricklin was also a part of the drawing Musgrave won. Stricklin was the fastest second-round qualifier for the Pepsi 400 in August at Michigan International Speedway.

"I think it is great for Ted to be in the Shootout," Stricklin said. "It will be extra work for the team, but we will gain information that we can use later in the week. Our driving styles are similar, so I think we can feed off of each other in setting up the car for Thursday."

Musgrave plans to drive the 2001 season for Ultra Motorsports in the Craftsman Truck Series with Mopar Performance Parts as his sponsor. Musgrave spent the 2000 season driving for Bessey Motorsports, Fenley Moore and Team Sabco. He drove for Team Sabco following the death of Kenny Irwin.
