Piquet holds off Alesi for maiden GP3 victory at Silverstone
Pedro Piquet secured his first victory in the GP3 series, leading home a Trident 1-2-3 at Silverstone.
Piquet, the son of three-time Formula 1 champion Nelson Piquet, made a lightning-quick start to snatch the lead on the run into Turn 1, taking the inside line from reverse-grid pole sitter Giuliano Alesi.
The Brazilian - who had previously managed a best result of second place in the France and Austria sprint races - controlled the gap to his Trident teammate throughout before crossing the line to seal his maiden win.

Alesi finished 1.5s back from his stablemate, while Ryan Tveter pulled off an early overtake on Leonardi Pulcini to claim his first podium finish of the season in third.
Anthoine Hubert led home ART Grand Prix teammate and title rival Callum Ilott in fourth to extend his championship lead over the Briton to eight points.
Pulcini dropped down the order to ultimately finish sixth, as Nikita Mazepin and Jake Hughes ensured all four ART cars finished inside of the points in seventh and eighth respectively.
