Classic Lawton Aermacchi races again at Billown
Fourteen times Blackford Financial Services Pre TT Classic Race winner Bill Swallow returns once again to Billown hoping to equal and possibly better one-time rival Bob Heaths total of fifteen victories at the popular classic meeting which takes place on Friday, Saturday and Monday 28th, 29th & 31st May 2010.
The Huddersfield flyer will have a brace of immaculately prepared single-cylinder machines at his disposal all entered by Peter Lockwood.
The larger capacity machine a 500cc Matchless G50 will be of interest to many G50 fans, but the smaller 350cc Aermacchi is likely to steal the show as far as pedigree goes!
The Lawton Aermacchi was originally raced to second place, behind the MV of Giacomo Agostini in the 1970 Junior TT by Alan Barnett prior to securing a place in racing history between 1987 and 1991 at the Manx Grand Prix as Bill's younger brother, Richard Swallow, took five consecutive victories in the Junior MMCC Classic Race.
