Manx GP, TT Legends in new ITV4 documentaries
Two new motorcycle documentaries will be broadcast on ITV4 next month, including a film about the Manx Grand Prix and an eight-part series featuring the Honda TT Legends team.
'Grand Prix Racer' has been produced by Isle of Man-based Greenlight TV and was shot before and during last year's Manx Grand Prix festival on the Isle of Man.
It will be screened on ITV4 at 8pm next Tuesday, February 5.
Rob Hurdman, Producer of Grand Prix Racer, said: "The documentary will provide an interesting and exciting insight into the Manx Grand Prix and the role it plays in real road racing."
Manx Motor Cycle Club Chairman, Harvey Garton, said he was confident the documentary would enhance the profile of the event, which has been rebranded as the Isle of Man Festival of Motorcycling in an overhaul of the meeting by the Manx Government for 2013.
"The club is very excited with the quality and content of the programme, produced by Greenlight TV," he said.
"I feel sure that the documentary will enhance the reputation of the Manx Grand Prix and encourage competitors to enter the 'Manx' and whet the appetite of enthusiasts to visit and experience what are the 'most sporting races of the year'.
"We as organisers look forward to welcoming competitors and spectators to the 2013 Manx Grand Prix to help us celebrate our 90th anniversary."
The Manx Grand Prix will take place on Wednesday 28 and Friday, August 30, with the new Classic TT races running on Saturday 24 and Monday, August 26.
John McGuinness, Guy Martin, Conor Cummins and Michael and William Dunlop are among the entries for the Classic TT races next year.
Meanwhile, ITV4 will also show an eight-part documentary on the Honda TT Legends team filmed in 2012 and featuring John McGuinness, Simon Andrews and Cameron Donald at events including the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT, plus the Endurance World Championship rounds.
Gaucho Productions was granted exclusive access to the Honda TT Legends team last year as they took on some of the world's toughest bike races from Japan to Germany and Le Mans to the Isle of Man.
The new series will commence on Monday, February 4 at 8.30pm.
